Het Research Laboratory for Vector-borne Diseases (RLVBD), vroeger de Belgian Zoonosis Workgroup, is een onderzoeksgroep van het Ministerie van Defensie, onder de koepel van de ACOS WB Research Groep (E&B). De groep onderzoekt alle zoönosen die een gevaar voor de mens kunnen opleveren. Het RLVBD was en is vooral geïnteresseerd in de hantavirus problematiek in België. Andere pathogenen zoals de ziekte van Lyme, tick-borne encephalitis (TBEV), ehrlichiose, babesiose en parasieten maken het voorwerp uit van verdere studies. Alleen of in samenwerking met Belgische of buitenlandse partners, heeft het RLVBD reeds verscheidene studies terzake verricht.

Le Research Laboratory for Vector-borne Diseases (RLVBD), anciennement le "Belgian Zoonosis Workgroup" est un groupe de recherche fondé par le Ministère de la Défense sous les auspices d'ACOS WB E&B. Le but du groupe est d'évaluer toutes les zoonoses qui peuvent représenter une menace pour l'être humain. Ces dernières années, Le RLVBD s'est plus particulièrement intéressé au monitoring des infections à Hantavirus. D'autres zoonoses comme la maladie de Lyme, les ehrlichioses et la babesiose ont été également investiguées. Plusieurs articles traitant de ces sujets ont été publiés par le RLVBD, seul ou en collaboration des partenaires étrangers.

The Research Laboratory for Vector-borne Diseases (RLVBD), formerly the Belgian Zoonosis Workgroup, is a research group funded by the Belgian Ministry of Defence and hosted by the ACOS WB Research Group (E&B). The aim of the group is to investigate all zoonoses that can be a threat to humans. The past years the RLVBD has been monitoring hantavirus seroprevalence in Belgium. Other epizootic agents such as Borrelia sp., tick-borne encephalitis (TBEV), Ehrlichia sp., Babesia sp. and parasites are under study. Alone or in collaboration with Belgian or foreign Universities, RLVBD has performed several studies on these subjects.
